A group, Doctors on Call Health Support Initiative, has said the high rate of death in the country is due to the poor emergency response system in place. The Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the group, Dr. Adejobi Adeloye said lack of quick intervention and lackadaisical attitude of eyewitnesses during emergency cases reduce the chances of survival of victims of attacks and accidents.

The group said it decided to launch a mobile application, ‘Amba’ to facilitate quick response to emergency cases in the country. Adeloye said the application would function as a fast and effective emergency and non-emergency solution for the average African.

He said:  “Emergency usually strikes without notice. We don’t want a situation whereby people don’t know what to do and can’t get access to emergency vehicle. Our application works with a mobile platform technology. It will send the details of the ambulance driver and within seconds you receive a phone call and the person will be with you in minutes.”
