President Buhari attends ECOWAS meeting in Niamey
President Muhammadu Buhari will today travel to Niamey, Republic of Niger, to participate in a meeting on common currency for the West African sub-region.
Member countries of the ECOWAS Task Force on Common Currency are Nigeria, Cote d’Ivoire, Ghana and Niger.The Minister of Finance, Kemi Adeosun and the Central Bank of Nigeria governor, Godwin Emefiele, will join the President at the meeting.Buhari is expected to return to Abuja later in the day after the meeting.
The President returned to Nigeria on Sunday after a four day visit, attending the ninth D-8 Summit in Istanbul, Turkey.He used the occasion of the D-8 Summit to bolster warm and growing ties across a broad range of areas of cooperation with leaders of the D8-member countries, namely Bangladesh, Egypt, Indonesia, Iran, Malaysia, Pakistan and Turkey.
