The General Overseer and President of Ebomi Ministry, Prophet Isa El-Buba, has picked holes in the recent order given by the Chief of Army Staff (COAS), Lt-Gen. Tukur Buratai, that troops fighting the Boko Haram insurgents should bring their leader, Abubakar Shekau, dead or alive within 40 days.

El-Buba, who described the directive as unwarranted at the weekend in Jos, said it is not everything the military wants to do that should be made public, as elements of surprise are needed in any warfare.

According to him, the military should carry out sensitive plans secretly, and members of the public should only become aware of such after they had become fruitful.

On the prolonged absence of President Buhari from office as a result of his ill-health, he said Nigerians should allow him to recover fully, since the Acting President is capable.

“If Prof. Yemi Osinbajo is given full powers to rule the country without any inhibition, within the next two years, the country will take a good shape,” he said.

He warned of a revolution, if the Acting President is not allowed to act fully. He said the constitutional conference report should be implemented, as this will end all ethnic and tribal agitations in the country.

“The North is no more the North. The North Central is not part of the North,” El-Buba, a core northerner from Borno State, pointed out.

The Prophet was, however, optimistic that the military will cage and defeat Boko Haram insurgency.

He explained that forces against Nigerian military in the fight against the insurgency are not coming only from unpatriotic Nigerians, who are leaking information to the enemy, but that the international community is also involved.

According to him, the international community wants to see Nigeria collapse as a nation, because it is the only African country the global community is afraid of.

Boko Haram, he noted, does not manufacture firearms, adding that the insurgents will be overpowered in a twinkle of an eye, if they stop supplying them arms.

He cited similar dangerous and stronger groups in the past, which suffered undignified defeat in the hands of Nigerian military because the international community starved them of arms.

The cleric argued that Nigeria needs restructuring, so that every state has its own local police, as that is the only way the insurgents can be crushed and eliminated completely from the Nigerian soil.
