Sanusi lauds Fayose’s stride in education
As Ekiti Varsity Honours Dankwabo, Ajimobi, Adebutu
The Emir of Kano, Alhaji Sanusi Lamido Sanusi, yesterday commended Ekiti State Governor, Mr Ayodele Fayose for reenacting efforts that will bring back the old glory when the state took the lead in education.
Sanusi also commended Fayose and the Vice Chancellor of Ekiti State University (EKSU), Prof Samuel Oye Bandele for being detribalized in nature and for his vision in making the university a beacon to others in the country.
Sanusi, former Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), said this in Ado Ekiti yesterday, while being conferred with honourary degree in finance by Ekiti State University, Ado Ekiti.
Others, who bagged similar academic laurel included: Governors of Gombe and Oyo, Alhaji Ibrahim Hassan Dankwambo and Senator Abiola Ajimobi and a member of the House of Representatives, Hon Oladipupo Adebutu.
The Emir of Kano, who was represented by former Governor of Kano State, Alhaji Ibrahim Shekarau, expressed gratitude to the university for finding him and other awardees worthy of the academic titles.
Displaying his love for education, Fayose gave N2.5 million and scholarship to graduate level to Master Oluwatosin Ogundipe, a student of Shepherd High School, for coming first in Young Best Scientist of the year.
Fayose said education remains the best legacy and thriving industry to every Ekiti man, saying his government would do everything humanly possible to preserve and maintain the status the state has achieved in the sector.

Well Well Well, the political strength and sagacity of Fayose can no longer be undermined in Nigeria. However, I still doubt the sincerity of Sanusi towards him by any measure. Fayose should not celebrate the statements of an Islamic extremist like Sanus. His antecedents are out of phase with his statements
We will review and take appropriate action.
