Deputy Senate President, Senator Ike Ekweremadu

Senate President, Dr. Bukola Saraki, his deputy Ike Ekweremadu, and former deputy governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), Professor Kingsley Moghalu are expected at the fourth anniversary lecture of TheNiche newspaper.

A statement by the newspaper’s Executive Editor, Oguwike Nwachuku, yesterday said Moghalu would deliver the anniversary lecture at the Main Auditorium of the Nigerian Institute of International Affairs, Victoria Island, Lagos on Friday, April 20, 2018.

The 2015 KOWA Party Presidential candidate, Professor Remi Sonaiya, will be Chairman of the lecture titled: Development Reporting and Hysteria Journalism in Nigeria.

“A team of professionals versed in economy, politics, media, academics and civil society have also been assembled to dissect the topic in a manner that will place Nigeria of our dream on sound development footing through the media.

“The discussants include Professor Fred Aja Agwu, a senior researcher at the NIIA who is also a journalist, author and international affairs expert. The highpoint of the anniversary will be the unveiling of the TheNiche Foundation for Development of Journalism,” the statement reads.

Also billed to attend the event are Managing Director of New Telegraph Newspaper and President of the Nigerian Guild of Editors, Funke Egbemode and former Group Deputy Managing Director of Access Bank, Obinna Nwosu, among others.
