A combined team of security agents in Benue has arrested eight persons for their alleged involvement in the abduction of teenage children in the state.

Six of the children have been rescued with one of them, Miracle Jacob immediately reunited with his parents.

Among the suspects is a 34-year-old man, Adejo Ogli, who is said to be the grandson of the first paramount ruler of Idoma.

Addressing a press conference yesterday, Governor Samuel Ortom said that the suspects were arrested by the police and other security operatives and were handed over to the state government.

The governor, who restated his administration’s commitment to protect lives and property in the state, warned those abetting abductions in the state to desist.

Ortom commended the security agencies for their prompt response to distress calls and pledged continued support for them in their efforts to rid Benue of crime.
