Students of tertiary institutions in Ogun State have endorsed Prince Gboyega Nasir Isiaka, as their candidate for the April 11 governorship election.

The students under the aegis of National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS) Ogun States Chapter comprises of 13 unions said, “having considered the antecedents of all the candidates for the election and their programmes for the youths and students, we have come to the realisation of the fact that only Isiaka, the PDP candidate is the best and we have no reservation to endorse him as our candidate”.

Speaking at an elaborate programme held in Onikoko Area of Abeokuta, the leader of the team, Comrade Ahmed Falola took a swipe at the incumbent governor, Senator Ibikunle Amosun for not fulfilling his electoral promises to the students.

Falola noted that Amosun had in 2011 promised students 50 per cent reduction in school fees, but reneged.

Speaking at the event, Isiaka, who said he was elated with the endorsement of the students lamented the parlous state of education in the state and promised to hold an education summit where all the ills will be identified and corrected.

He also promised a drastic reduction in the school fees and provide a conducive environment for learning in the state.

Isiaka said, “education is one of the top most priorities of our agenda and we shall stop at nothing to give the best to our students in order to secure a better future for them.

“We shall work with private initiative to provide hostels and other amenities that will make learning easy and conducive for you”.
