AN alleged drunken truck driver with Registration Number AGL-254XP nearly killed eight persons yesterday at Charity Bus Stop, Oshodi Lagos when his truck rammed into four moving cars with Registration Numbers LSD-2225AP, KRD24-BZ, EKY-330 DC, ER-83APP as well as a motorcycle.

The accident caused gridlock that lasted for over two hours before the intervention of the police and officials of Lagos State Traffic Management Authority (LASTMA).

The driver blamed the rain for the accident, which occurred at about 8:30a.m. during the downpour. It was the first rain of the year in Lagos.

According to the driver, he could not see clearly in the rain but one of the car owners alleged he was under the influence of alcohol and Marijuana.

Before the arrival of the officers, four street urchins popularly called area boys had gathered around the truck.
He was lucky as the miscreants took to their heels when they sighted the policemen.
