The General Overseer of the Jubilee Christian Church International (JCCI), Abeokuta, Ogun State capital, Rev. Kunle Adesina has warned government at all levels to avert looming revolution in Nigeria by urgently tackling prevailing hunger in the country.

Adesina pointed out that “a lot of Nigerians are suffering” and they might revolt if government fails to urgently address the problem. He spoke yesterday when the church distributed food and other items as well as cash donations to 3,000 indigent residents and widows in the State. The event, tagged “Charity Day” was part of activities to mark the church’s 25 anniversary.

The clergyman advised the government to always consider the poor and the less privileged in any of its policies, saying every government policy must always take good care of the downtrodden.

He explained that the gesture by the church was to assist in cushioning the effect of hunger in the land and also to follow the laid down instructions of Jesus Christ.  The Cleric also called on wealthy Nigerians to always assist the poor and the needy, saying that God blessed them so as to bless others.
