tarabaTHE newly sworn-in Governor Taraba State, Darius Dickson Ishaku has called on the people to put aside their differences and unite for the sole purpose of catapulting the state to the greatest height.

The governor who made this known yesterday at his swearing in ceremony which took place at the Jolly Nyame Stadium, Jalingo, also called on politicians in the state to come together irrespective of their political parties to move the state forward.

According to him, there are plans to rescue the civil service, which he observed has been brought down to the lowest ebb, adding, “We shall encourage cordial working relationship between the politicians and civil servants.”

He said that education, unemployment, agriculture among others, would been given consideration as they would go a long way in bringing to an end the issue of lack of security which has led to massive destruction of lives and property in the state.

The outgone Acting Governor, Alhaji Garba Umar, who performed the handing over ceremony, paid a glowing tribute to the ailing former governor, Danbaba Suntai, who since his October 2012 plane crash was out of office.

Dignitaries present at the event which commenced at about 3pm included the former Minister of Defense, General Theophilus .Y. Danjuma (Rtd), Minister for Labour, Joel Danlami Ikenya, and the Senate Committee Chairman of Agriculture and Natural Resources, Emmanuel Bwacha.
