Three die, 13 injured in Ogun accident

Three passengers, including the driver, were confirmed dead, while 13 others were seriously injured in an accident at Odogbolu junction, along the Ijebu Ode-Benin Expressway in Ogun State, yesterday.

The accident, which involved a Toyota Hiace commercial bus, occurred when one of the rear tyres of the bus burst on motion, causing it to crash into the median.

The bus with the registration number, GGE 594 XT, was said to be travelling from Lagos to Port Harcourt, Rivers State, when the accident occurred.

Spokesman of the State Traffic Compliance and Enforcement Corps (TRACE), Mr. Babatunde Akinbiyi, who confirmed the accident to journalists, said the bodies of the victims had been deposited at the mortuary of the General Hospital in Ijebu Ode, while the injured were receiving treatment in the same hospital.
