Three feared dead in Ogun multiple autocrash
Three people were feared dead, yesterday, while four others were critically injured in an early morning multiple auto crash, at the Old Toll Gate, Sango, in Ado-Odo/Ota Local Council Area of Ogun State.
The Guardian learnt that the accident, which involved a Mack Truck with registration number GGE 80 XJ, travelling from Abeokuta to Lagos, occurred around 4:45am.
The vehicle had a brake failure and rammed into five other vehicles.
The Unit Commander, Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), Sango-Ota, Mr. Adekunle Oguntoyinbo, told The Guardian that the affected vehicles were – Volkswagen bus (KTU 899 XR), Volkswagen LT, (GGE 44 XL), Coaster Civilian (LSR 604 XD), Iveco Trailer (XB 190 MLF) and Mazda bus (KJA 667 XP)
He said: “Fifteen people were involved in the accident and two persons died in the process.
One of the two dead victims was trying to enter a bus, while the other was trying to cross the road, when the vehicle hit them.
“The remains of the victims have been deposited at the morgue of General Hospital, Ifo, while the injured are also receiving treatment at the General Hospital, Ota.”
