To make ‘Ember’ months safe…

The Kogi State Police Command has paraded 16 suspected armed robbers, kidnappers, cult members and cattle rustlers in the state.

Parading the suspects before newsmen at the Police Force Headquarters, the Public Relations Officer of the Command, Mr. William Aya said it was part of the command’s continuous onslaught against criminal activities in the state, adding the police were able to apprehend the criminals through intelligence.

According to him, the operatives attached to Special Anti-Robbery Squad (SARS) led by the Commanding Officer DSP Babagana Bukar, acting on a tip- off, arrested the suspected criminals and recovered one pump action gun, four AK 47, mask, car jacker, locally -made bullet prove ammunition as well as other dangerous weapons and charms.

Among those arrested was a 24 year -old Shaibu Ali Adejoh, who allegedly stole his boss’ blue colour Toyota Camry Muzzle with Registration Number KRD 412 EX.

According to Mr. Aya, the suspect who hails from Ashigili area of Dekina Local Council of the state, was arrested while approaching people in the community to enable him dispose of the car.

He mentioned that the operatives promptly swung into action, arrested the suspect and recovered the vehicle from him.

He also disclosed that investigation revealed that the suspect stole the car from his ‘Madam’ in Lagos, as the owner confirmed that the car was stolen.

He said that the area commanders as well as DPOs had been charged to beef up security in their areas of responsibilities and to ensure massive deployment of police patrol teams and undercover operatives to black spots, flash points and other vulnerable criminal spots to nip in the bud all forms of crimes and criminalities across the state and to make Ember months safe.
