Troops gun down another suicide bomber in Maiduguri IDPs camp
The Borno State Police Command said troops of Nigerian Army, yesterday, gunned down a male Boko Haram suicide bomber, while accessing Maiduguri Customs House Resettlement Camp to attack displaced persons along Dikwa Road.
Spokesman of the command, Isuku Victor disclosed this in a statement issued to newsmen in Maiduguri.He said that the suicide bomber, who strapped Improvised Explosive Devices (IEDs) around his body, was intercepted and killed, while attempting to scale over a perimeter fence into the camp, along Maiduguri-Gambouru road at midnight.
The statement read: “At about 2359hrs on Friday, a suicide bomber trying to infiltrate Custom House IDPs camp along
Maiduguri-Gambouru/Ngala Road, was intercepted and gunned down by troops when he refused to stop for a routine a check.
“The Improvised Explosive Devise (IED) strapped to his body also exploded killing only him,” the statement said further.In the early hours of last Friday; security agents at Jiddari Polo area and Muna Garage along also killed four suicide bombers along Maiduguri-Gambouru Road that was recently opened by the Chief of Army Staff, Lt. Gen. Tukur Buratai.
