Governor David Umahi of Ebonyi State, has inaugurated the state’s Implementation Committee on Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) projects, and the Steering Committee for the proposed 198-kilometre ring road.

Addressing members of the two committees at the Government House, Abakaliki, Umahi directed them to work assiduously to ensure that the rural electrification projects embarked upon by his administration in six local councils are ready for inauguration on November 15th.

He also directed that those of the remaining seven local councils be ready for inauguration on November 30th, 2016.

The governor said, through the SDG, we have embarked on the implementation of a number of projects in six local councils, but very significant among them is the rural electrification projects, especially streetlights. I am directing that that the job must be inaugurated by November 15th. So you have to write it down and the other job for the remaining seven LGAs must be ready by November 30th.”

He advised the local council caretaker chairmen to do everything within their powers to ensure that projects sited in their areas were protected.
