Wike suspends commissioner for works

Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Wike has suspended the State Commissioner for Works, Mr. Kevin Wachukwu. A statement by the Special Assistant to the Governor on Electronic Media, Simeon Nwakaudu said the suspension is with immediate effect.

No reason was given for his suspension as at the time this story was filed. However, during the commissioning of phase one of Nkpogu Bridge in Port Harcourt Local Government Area of the State recently, the Governor expressed hope that the rift between the contractor, Monier Construction Company and the Ministry of works does not affect several construction projects in the state.
