Governor David Umahi of Ebonyi State assured workers of his administration’s commitment to catering for their welfare, which he said was his priority.

At the Workers Day celebration held at Abakaliki Township Stadium, Governor Umahi, who was represented by his Deputy, Dr. Kelechi Igwe, pledged that every promise made to the workers by the present government would be fulfilled. He noted that the array of concerns raised by the workers would be looked into with a viewing to resolving them.

The workers, in a joint address of the Nigerian Labour Congress and the Trade Union Congress, as read by the state Chairman of NLC, Comrade Ikechukwu Nwafor, alleged that Governor Umahi was not doing enough to improve their welfare despite the overwhelming support he enjoyed from them in realizing his governorship ambition.
