Outshine others

Lawrence Achudume

By covenant birth, we are not to be hidden, but to be seen. The church (and by extension the members) is a city set on a hill, visible and outstanding among other hills.

“And it shall come to pass in the last days, that the mountain of the Lord’s house shall be established in the top of the mountains, and shall be exalted above the hills; and all nations shall flow unto it,” (Isaiah 2:2).

We are to be a model, a sign and a sign post for victory. We are to be a marvel and a wonder to behold.

“And many people shall go and say, come ye, and let us go up to the mountain of the Lord, to the house of the God of Jacob; and he will teach us of his ways, and we will walk in his paths: for out of Zion shall go forth the law, and the word of the Lord from Jerusalem,” Isaiah 2:3.

We are light, you cannot hide light, not even under a bushel. “Ye are the light of the world. A city that is set on an hill cannot be hid. Neither do men light a candle, and put it under a bushel, but on a candlestick; and it giveth light unto all that are in the house,” (Matthew 5:14-15).

The woman in Proverbs 31 displayed true marvel when the Bible speaks of her in Proverbs 31:29. “Many daughters have done virtuously, but thou excellest them all.”

Daniel in a strange land was no exception. “It pleased Darius to set over the kingdom an hundred and twenty princes, which should be over the whole kingdom. And over these three presidents; of whom Daniel was first: that the princes might give accounts unto them, and the king should have no damage. Then this Daniel was preferred above the presidents and princes, because an excellent spirit was in him; and the king thought to set him over the whole realm,” (Daniel 6:1-3).

Neither were Esther and Mordecai through whose exploits people by themselves converted to be Jews because of the manifestation of God in their life and the Jewish community. “The Jews had light, and gladness, and joy, and honour. And in every province, and in every city, whithersoever the king’s commandment and his decree came, the Jews had joy and gladness, a feast and a good day. And many of the people of the land became Jews; for the fear of the Jews fell upon them,” (Esther 8:16-17).

These are acts of the covenant manifestation, which turns a man or a community into a marvel and a wonder (Psalms 71:7). When the covenant seed is at work God makes you a point of reference and always place you on top.

The covenant seed is to make you stand out and manifest in several ways to show the works of God in you are manifest in two examples in this book. There are two things that give you the breakthrough that you are expecting. These include:

(a). Your Outfit: This is as a result of God’s workings in your life, his marvellous works in you

(B). Excellent Performance: “There is a man in thy kingdom, in whom is the spirit of the holy gods; and in the days of thy father light and understanding and wisdom, like the wisdom of the gods, was found in him; whom the king Nebuchadnezzar thy father, the king, I say, thy father, made master of the magicians, astrologers, Chaldeans, and soothsayers. Forasmuch as an excellent spirit, and knowledge, and understanding, interpreting of dreams, and shewing of hard sentences, and dissolving of doubts, were found in the same Daniel, whom the king named Belteshazzar: now let Daniel be called, and he will shew the interpretation,” (Daniel 5:11-12).
