A governorship aspirant in Imo State, Uche Onyeaguocha, has asked Governor Rochas Okorocha to explain his alleged possession of three private jets.

He made the request yesterday in a statement by his Chief Press Secretary, McDonald Enwere.

The candidate from the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA), urged the governor to declare how the jets were acquired and are being maintained.

Onyeaguocha said his request followed Okorocha’s recent claim that he does not own any property overseas.

The statement said: “We have noted with overwhelming consternation, the dishonest comment recently credited to Okorocha, where he claimed that he has no private property overseas since he became governor.

“To us, such a juvenile claim is not only ridiculous, but also deceitful. We are not surprised that such a leprous claim of mendacity is coming from a man who is well known for his coated fallacy.”

Onyeaguocha alleged that Okorocha purchased the private jets and used a prominent Anambra-based man as a cover.

He asked the governor to explain whether the private jets were purchased with state funds, or on lease.

But in a response, through a social media platform “Inno News.com.ng,” the state Commissioner for Information, Prof. Nnamdi Obiareri, asked the aspirant to prove the allegation.
