There is fear of imminent crisis in the Edo State House of Assembly (EDHA) as the House constituted a five-man ad-hoc committee to investigate the deputy speaker, Victor Edoror.

The deputy speaker was alleged to have committed breaches in legislative powers and divulged the House’s official secrets and sensitive information.

Speaker of the House, Kabiru Adjoto, who constituted the committee during plenary in Benin City yesterday, said Edoror was accused of divulging sensitive official secret to members of the public, a development he stressed, was at variance with the House rules.

Adjoto explained that the allegations were weighty and capable of bringing the house to disrepute, just as he named representative of Orhionmwon East as chairman of the committee.

Other members of the panel are representative of Owan West, Victor Asein, representative of Oredo East, Osaigbovo Iyoha, representative of Esan South-East, Festus Edughele, and representative of Esan North East 1, Patrick Iluobe.

According to the Speaker, the committee has up to Wednesday, June 27, 2018 to submit its report.
