The All Progressives Congress, APC, in Ekiti State yesterday declared its support for the reelection bid of President Muhammadu Buhari, saying he deserves a second term because of his achievements in office.

The party, according to the Publicity Secretary, Taiwo Olatunbosun, held the rally ahead of the impending governorship election in the state.

Speaking at the gathering, Acting Chairman of the party, Mrs Kemi Olaleye said the president was misunderstood by those opposing his reelection bid adding, “Today, more than 10,000 Ekiti indigenes across party lines are benefiting from N-Power, the Federal Housing Estates and Federal Secretariat are under construction and many of our people were appointed into federal boards, commissions and parastatals.

“The school feeding programme is also a landmark achievement. Very soon, this party will release the achievements of President Buhari in Ekiti, which governor Fayose has claimed as his own achievements to the public.”

On the massacre in Benue, Olaleye sympathized with the Tivs over the losses suffered, indicting the opposition of being behind the killings to discredit Buhari’s government.

She also upbraided Fayose for issuing a white paper banning Dr Kayode Fayemi from holding political office for ten years for alleged corruption, saying, “the former governor is a leader in Nigeria and the governor was only joking with such illegal pronouncement.”
