Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Wike

Governor Nyesom Wike of Rivers State has said that Nigerians will not be deceived into voting for the All Progressives Congress (APC) back to power in 2019.

Wike alleged that the country had been badly governed and terribly divided since the APC took over power.

He stated this yesterday while flagging off the reconstruction of Abuloma, Fimie, Ozuboko and Amadi-Ama community roads in Port Harcourt.

The governor, who said that Nigerians were deceived into voting for the APC in 2015, stressed that the citizens did not bargain for the situation they are faced with in the country, hence, no Nigerian would be deceived by the empty promises of the party.

According to him, the country presently needs people who will promote peace through quality leadership. “The change they said they are bringing is fake change. No person resident in Rivers State and sees what we are suffering from the APC Federal Government will ever support the party,” he said.

He, therefore, gave the assurance that his administration would continue to deliver projects that will improve their living condition. He stated that the reconstruction of the roads would be completed in six months.

Wike, who reiterated that his administration would take steps to stop flooding, appealed to residents to desist from building houses on waterways.

Meanwhile, the construction firm, China Civil Engineering Construction Corporation (CCECC), Mr. Robinson Ndiokho, assured the governor that the company would construct the roads in line with the approved specifications.
