A people Democratic Party (PDP) stalwart in Ughelli North and South and Udu Federal Constituency in Delta State, Hon. Chief (Mrs.) Eunice B. Oguma has called for better representation of women in Nigeria’s political structure.

Oguma, seeking to be elected into the Federal House of Representative, said enough women were not contesting elective positions because of the stiff resistance they face from men, who have conquered the political space. She, therefore, urged parties’ leadership to encourage more women to come forward to be part of the political process.

Speaking at a sensitisation event in Ughelli, Oguma, who presented her credential of diligent and faithful service, stated that she has the required experience to be elected into the House of Representative, having served as Vice Chairman of Ughelli South Local Government Area from 2015 to 2017.

She noted that her experience and stature have positioned her to further serve her people at a larger stage, pledging to attract government’s presence to her constituents aside other dividends of democracy, if elected.
