APC National Vice Chairman (North East), Mustapha Salihu

The All Progressives Congress (APC) has described the purported suspension of the National Vice Chairman (North East), Mustapha Salihu, as null and void.

It made its position known in a statement issued by its newly appointed National Publicity Secretary, Lanre Issa-Onilu, barely 24 hours after the party’s North East Zonal Office suspended Salihu.

The party maintained that its North East Zonal Office lacks the powers to suspend Salihu who is a National Officer based on provisions of its constitution.

The party further asserted that powers to suspend national officers reside with its National Executive Committee (NEC).
