Agbakoba seeks to end Falana’s reign in final battle
Olisa Agbakoba Legal has been presented the opportunity to correct the mistakes that cost it the BOA Lawyers League last year when it meets archrival, Falana & Falana in the final of the competition. It is the third consecutive year that Agbakoba will meet the defending champion in the final of the competition, which has become the leading event in the corporate sports circle.
Last year, Falana was able to edge out Agbakoba through a penalty shoot that ended 2-1 in its favour.
To qualify for tomorrow’s final game, Olisa Agbakoba defeated Rickey Tarfa 4-2, while Falana & Falana beat Banwo & Ighodalo 2-1. Owolabi Dare was Olisa Agbakoba’s semifinal hero, while two goals from Bada Femi and Kazeem Lemoh accounted for Banwo & Ighodalo’s scalp.
The BOA Lawyers League is held annually in memory of the late notable lawyer, Mr. Bankole Olumide Aluko, a founding partner in the law firm of Aluko & Oyebode, who passed on 17 years ago.
Tomorrow’s final is expected to draw all the bigwigs in Nigeria’s judiciary to AstroTurf2000, where, apart from the football match on display, they will enjoy other programmes lined up to entertain them.
