The ‘I am Ready,’ Campaign Organisation of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has condemned the statement by the governor of Ekiti State, Ayo Fayose, who said that the Presidential candidate of the party, Muhammadu Buhari is too old to rule.
Fayose had at the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) governors forum in Lagos compared Buhari with his old mother, saying Buhari whom he described as his father is of the same age with his mother who wears diapers as a result of old age and urged Nigerians to reject him.
The campaign organization, while addressing journalists in Lagos yesterday, insisted that Buhari is strong and fit to rule the country, adding that in history, people of Buhari’s age had emerged as presidents and completed their tenures.
The National coordinator of the group, Tola Adekunle-Johnson said his group is out to ensure that youths come out on March 28 to vote for the APC. According to him, the campaign, which involves the spreading of a very long ‘I am ready’ banner has taken them to different states such as Ogun, Abuja and Oyo.
“We have about 445, 000 youths involved in holding of the banner from all walks of life. In almost three weeks, we have been able to have almost half a million participation. Few weeks to the election, we want to have banner signage all over the country.
