17 sustain injury in Ogun road accident

Ogun State Sector Command of Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) has revealed that 17 persons sustained injuries from a road accident that occurred around Iju Bridge on the Ota-Idiroko route.


According to FRSC, 32 people comprising 12 male and 20 female adults were involved in the accident.

It stated that although 17 people sustained injuries, 15 people came out of the accident unhurt, just as no live was lost.

It gathered that four vehicles were involved in the accident.

FRSC Public Education Officer, Ogun Sector Command, Florence Okpe, disclosed that the suspected cause of the crash was excessive speeding on the truck driver who tried to negotiate the bend at Iju bridge on a high speed but lost control and crashed on two other vehicles in the process.

Okpe, who urged motorists to shun overspeeding and consider other road users, said that the injured victims have been taken to Ota General Hospital for medical attention.
