2023 election: Atiku wins in Akwa-Ibom, defeats Tinubu, Obi, Kwankwaso

The presidential candidate of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), Atiku Abubakar, has been declared the winner of the Saturday, February 25, presidential election in Akwa-Ibom state.

Atiku polled a total number of 214,012 votes according to the results announced on Tuesday by the Independent National Electoral Commission’s (INEC) collation officers for all the Local Government Areas (LGAs) in the state

Atiku’s closest rival in the state, Bola Tinubu of the All Progressives Congress (APC), emerged with a total vote of 160,620.


On the other hand, the Labour Party, Peter Obi, polled 132,683 votes while the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP) presidential candidate, Rabiu Kwankwaso, trailed with 7,796 votes.

A total of 2,357,418 voters were registered in the state, according to the INEC collation officers, and 594,450 of them were accredited, while the total number of valid votes was 555,089, the number of rejected ballots was 321,328, and the total number of votes cast was 587,417.
