2023: IPSO hails Tinubu’s declaration for presidential race

A Northern based group, Incoming President Support Organisation (IPSO) has hailed the declaration of Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu to vie for the presidential race next year insisting the pronouncement finally clear needless doubt.

National Coordinator of IPSO, Alh. Tajo Mohammad Nagoda, who disclosed this while addressing journalists in Kano, stressed that Tinubu’s declaration has justified the voice of IPSO and numerous progressives Nigerians begging him to consider contesting for the presidential ticket.

Nagoda, who maintained that Asiwaju’s candidature remains the most credible to consolidate President Muhammadu Buhari’s Transformation Agenda, pledged to mobilise maximum support for the National Leader of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) to become the country’s next president.

IPSO, a sub-group with a hundred per cent membership drawn from the ruling APC had canvassed in support of a power shift to the Southern region of the country in 2023 saying that relocation of power from the North can only affirm the principle of fairness and balance in Nigeria.

Nagoda, who maintained the readiness of IPSO to lead campaign massive campaign to ensure Tinubu click the party’s ticket, pledged to mobilise 10 million votes for their preferred candidate in the North.

Explaining the former Lagos State governor deserved to be elected, Nagoda said Tinubu has built a network of national integration and cohesion, which truly exemplified him as a unifying factor in Nigerian politics.

He stressed that Asiwaju was not only responsible for the development of the modern megacity but also built and mentored leaders across the spectrum who are today’s political leaders and captains of industries.

Besides, he revealed that support for Tinubu essentially from the North becomes necessary to reciprocate the support that he muscled for President Muhammad Buhari to become president in 2015.

“Support for Tinubu this time is payback, especially for we the Northerners. Our choice and support for Tinubu is to reciprocate the solid back he gave to our own President Muhammad Buhari. We are all living witness to how many times baba Buhari contested for the presidency and could not succeed until he got the full support of Tinubu, who worked round the clock to deliver Southwest votes.

“Again, the track records of Tinubu and the developmental stride he made as governor of Lagos State and national bridge builder are enough reasons to mobilise maximum support for him. The foundation and template upon which Lagos is built today were initiated by Tinubu. He has built and mentored political leaders, including governors, ministers and any other leadership position you can name.

“Tinubu has made a lot of sacrifice to the extent of relinquishing his rightful benefit to someone else. He nominated the Vice President, Prof. Osinbajo, he nominated Fashola, Fayemi, Aregbeshola and several top-ranking members of this administration, including those who are not even from the Southwest.

“You can lose count of those Asiwaju helped to get the nomination and elected into the National Assembly. So that is why we wanted APC to consider him to flag the party’s ticket come 2023,” Nagoda said.
