Anwar, who made the declaration in Kano, believed that Osinbajo’s proven leadership qualities would rather be enough justification for Nigerians to ignore reckless campaign on sentiment being propelled by other candidates.
He spoke while unveiling the 2023 NewTribe Project, a political campaign movement for the presidential ticket for Osinbajo in 2023.
He disclosed that besides integrity, Osinbajo understood the policy framework and progressive agenda of President Muhammadu Buhari, which he would build on.
In his keynote address, former Senator representing Osun Central, Professor Olushola Adeyeye, disclosed that Nigeria was in urgent need to select a bold, brave and tireless leader to take on the challenges bedevilling the nation.
Adeyeye, who argued that Osinbajo remains unequal with a strong vision for Nigeria’s future, said: “Next year, Nigerians will be summoned to make an exceptional judgment worthy of the times. The forces of history enjoin us to search carefully among us for a bold, brave and tireless leader with a resolve to take on challenges that may come our way.”
On why the campaign train was unveiled in Kano, the former Chief Whip of the Senate disclosed that Kano represents the indomitable spirit of Nigeria with the resourceful richness of culture and number that will serve as the raw materials for the future the country so desperately desires.
Deputy coordinator of the group, Engr Nonso Nnamani explained that Nigeria was in need of a president devoid of ethnic, religious and regional sentiments, which Osinbajo clearly epitomize.
Nonso said the Vice President has successfully piloted the affairs of Nigeria with a clear positive impact to further transform the country, insisting that the competence and dexterity inherent in Osinbajo are enough to build greater Nigeria.
Although, the Vice President is yet to declare his ambition to join the 2023 presidential ticket, the unveiling of the NewTribe movement, a conglomerate of several campaign support groups drawn from across the country have set the tone for the 2023 political campaigns.
