2023: Zone presidency to South or we mobilise against North, group threatens parties

Picks Okowa As Preferred Candidate To Fix Nigeria
Ahead of the 2023 general elections, a group under the umbrella of North West Coalition for Democracy and Good Governance (NWCDGG), said it has completed plans and strategies to mobilse millions of voters against choice of any candidate from the North, noting that it’s the turn of the South to produce President.

The group also said it is working with several political groups across the country to ensure that all political parties zoned seat of the president to the South, especially the South-South geo-political zone, in order to have the likes of Delta State Governor, Senator Ifeanyi Okowa, as the next president.

In a statement jointly signed by the Chairman and Secretary of the group, Alhaji Musa Mohammed Ringim and Mal. Ahmadu Shehu, respectively, the group which alleged that, “North in collaboration with the South West geo-political zone ganged up against former President Goodluck Jonathan and for us this was unfair,” said it will be politically fair to allow a candidate from the South South, from an Igbo extraction to complete the quashed tenure if there must be a political balance.

“This amongst many reasons is why we have endorsed Governor Senator Ifeanyi Okowa, who is from Delta, …We based our arguments on the fact that the South east, is yet to produce a President after Nigeria became a Republic,” the group however, hinged its appeal on the commendable giant strides Governor Okowa has recorded in the areas of infrastructural development in the state.”
