33-year-old seeks intervention over threat by late father’s associates

A man, 33-year-old Hammed Fadesere, who resides at Muyibi Street, Olodi Apapa, Lagos, yesterday, appealed to well meaning Nigerians to prevail on one of his late father’s associates, whom he accused of trying to force him into membership of a secret society.

Hammed, in a chat with The Guardian, alleged that some of his late father’s colleagues have been on his neck since the demise of the man on February 28, 2022.

“My life is endangered and I need to cry out to well meaning Nigerians to prevail on these people not to force me as a replacement in this secret society. I don’t like the idea at all. They have physically, mentally and spiritually attacked me.

“They are telling me that if I fail to heed their directive, they would harm me because as the first child, I should automatically take over the position of my dad in their society. My mother who could have assisted me in crying out died some years ago,” he lamented.

Meanwhile, an Ilorin-based human rights lawyer, Abeny Mohammed (SAN), has advised Hammed to approach relevant law enforcement agents and explore legal recourse on the issue.
