The Senior Special Assistant to the President on Community Engagement (South East), Bar. Mrs. Chioma Nweze, said over the weekend that President Bola Tinubu has succeeded in addressing most of the challenges facing the Southeast, noting that without the coming of Tinubu as President, the Southeast economy would have collapsed.

In a statement which the Guardian obtained a copy of in Abakaliki, Bar. Nweze said that the present administration led by Mr. President, through his Renewed Hope Agenda mantra, has launched numerous programmes and interventions that have not only promoted economic growth but also infrastructure development and social welfare in the region.

Bar. Nweze stated that apart from the recent assent to the South-East Development Commission Bill (SEDC), which according to her will spur further development in the region, our roads, which were in bad shape, are now being fixed, and other valuable life-touching programmes have been put in place towards addressing historical disparities and promoting inclusivity, which would engender a greater sense of belonging to the Nigerian project among the southeastern populace.

The statement read in part: “With a great sense of honor and privilege, I heartily felicitate with our dear pragmatic, transformational, and visionary leaders, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and the Governor of Ebonyi State, Francis Nwifuru, on the auspicious occasion of the celebration of Nigeria at 64 and Ebonyi at 28.

“I am delighted to convey my heartfelt appreciation to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, who through his Renewed Hope agenda mantra is addressing the developmental challenges faced by the South East region of Nigeria, which has been manifested in his administration’s numerous programs and interventions targeted to promote economic growth, infrastructure development, and social welfare in the region.

“The landmark achievements so far recorded in the country, especially in the Southeast region, are a testimony that you have come to serve the people with your wealth of experience, strength, and wisdom, which of course is founded on the mantra of ‘Renewed Hope agenda.’

“The recent assent to the South-East Development Commission Bill (SEDC) and other valuable life-touching programs represent a significant stride towards addressing historical disparities and promoting inclusivity, which would engender a greater sense of belonging to the Nigerian project among the southeastern populace.

“In the same vein, I boldly salute the great achiever par excellence and welfarist governor of Ebonyi State, His Excellency, Francis Nwifuru, the capacity minister of works, the Father of Modern Ebonyi State, and former governor of Ebonyi State, David Umahi, the National Assembly Members, and a host of other prominent stakeholders of the Southeast region, as we mark the independence anniversary of Nigeria at 64 and the creation of Ebonyi State.”
