
Dr. Adedoyin Ajibike Okupe, fondly known as Doyin Okupe, was born on March 22, 1952, in Iperu, Ogun State, Nigeria.
He was the son of Chief Matthew Adekoya Okupe, a respected banker with Agbonmagbe Bank.
Education and Medical Career
Attended St. Jude’s School in Ebute Metta, Lagos, and Igbobi College in Yaba, Lagos.
Studied Medicine at the University of Ibadan, graduating in 1976.
Co-founded Royal Cross Medical Centre in Lagos, serving as Managing Director.
Published “Life Mirror,” Nigeria’s first health newspaper, in 1988.
Political Career
National Publicity Secretary of the National Republican Convention (NRC) during the Third Republic.
Special Assistant on Media and Publicity to President Olusegun Obasanjo (1999-2007).
Senior Special Assistant on Public Affairs to President Goodluck Jonathan (2012-2015).
Director-General of Peter Obi’s Presidential Campaign under the Labour Party in 2022.
