The Rotary Club of New Lagos, Ikeja, District 9112, Nigeria, has marked its fourth anniversary with a vibrant celebration of its unwavering commitment to humanitarian service and fellowship.
The joyous occasion brought together members and their families, and guests at the Combo Luxe in Ipaja, Lagos, at the weekend, which coincided with the birthday of Rotary International President, Paul P Harris.
In a virtual address, President of the Club, Lara Akinbami Ojo, warmly welcomed attendees and encouraged an atmosphere of celebration and camaraderie.
She extended an invitation to interested guests to join the impactful work of the Rotary Club, urging them to connect with the Secretary, Kemi Kehinde, for membership details.
Ojo also stressed the need for collaborative partnerships, underscoring the importance of collective action in addressing community needs and amplifying the positive impact of Rotary worldwide.
The anniversary celebration, expertly coordinated by the Family of Rotary Chairman, Aduragbemi Aiyeola, Club Secretary, Kemi Kehinde, and other committee members, was a lively affair that showcased the spirit of Rotary. Rotary members engaged in friendly competition with a spirited game of Whot, while others enjoyed a round of snooker and a live band performance by Akinlabi D Major and the Assorted Music Makers International, fostering connections and reinforcing the bonds of fellowship.
Kehinde, while highlighting the tangible impact of the club’s dedication, proudly shared some of their significant achievements, including the installation of a borehole and the donation of essential relief materials to a local school.
Also, Past President of the club, Olumide Lawal, whose tenure was themed “Imagine Rotary,” expressed profound gratitude for witnessing the milestone.
He further elaborated on the club’s impactful community initiatives, including donations of ante natal kits to 50 mothers, comprehensive eye examination for 250 residents of Meiran community, cataract surgery healthcare exercise that restored sight to approximately 10 individuals and the donation of school bags and uniforms to over 200 students in the Agege Local Council.
