Over 200 brands, federal agencies listed for consumer votes as portal goes live

BRANDXCHANGE, organisers of the Consumers Value Awards (CVA), has officially opened the voting portal for the 2025 edition. The portal allows consumers to vote for over 200 brands, including for the first time, several federal government agencies nominated by the public based on service experiences.

Now in its fourth consecutive year, this year’s edition is themed, “Beyond prices: consumer trust, digital experience & brand accountability.” This theme reflects rising consumer expectations, particularly in a fast-evolving digital economy where accountability and trust are critical drivers of brand loyalty.

CVA Convener, Akonte Ekine, noted this year’s voting list includes a more diverse range of sectors — from everyday consumer goods and fitness brands to public sector agencies — signifying an increased public interest and participation in the nomination phase.

To him, “this is the first time we are seeing federal agencies making it to the voting stage, a testament to the growing awareness and engagement of consumers. To uphold transparency, each voter must validate their email via a one-time password (OTP) system. The OTP ensures one vote per email address across all categories, reinforcing the credibility and authenticity of the results.”

Ekine added, “the CVA is not decided by a panel of experts or jurors, but by the very people who use these services and products daily. Consumers are the ultimate judges — their votes are a form of feedback that can drive change and reward excellence. Our focus remains firmly on consumer experience and market service delivery, free from political influences. We’re here to build consumer knowledge and promote a better marketplace for all.”
