British-Nigerian rapper and actor, David Orobosa Omoregie, popularly known as Dave, and Nigerian singer, Temilade Openiyi, known professionally as Tems, have been listed on Spotify’s 2026 “Songs of Summer” predictions.
The list released by Spotify on May 29 is part of its annual songs of summer predictions.
According to Spotify, the list was compiled by its global editorial team based on songs expected to dominate the summer season across different countries and music genres.
Dave and Tems made the list with their collaboration, “Raindance,” off Dave’s third studio album, The Boy Who Played the Harp.
Spotify said its editors monitored global music trends before selecting songs they believe could shape listening habits during the summer.
The platform said the list features songs across pop, rap, Afrobeats and electronic music.
Speaking on the qualities of a summer song, Spotify’s Editorial Lead, Pop, Talia Kraines, said such a song must be able to connect with people beyond one country or genre.
“It’s a song that makes you feel good, that you can listen to outside in the sunshine with your friends, and that has the ability to travel across genres, people, and countries,” Kraines said.
“Raindance” was released in October 2025 as the fifth track on Dave’s album.
The song was produced by Jo Caleb, Kyle Evans, Jim Legxacy, Dave and Tems.
It combines Tems’ soulful vocals with Dave’s calm and reflective rap delivery.
The track also recorded major commercial success after its release.
It reached No. 1 on the UK Singles Chart, giving Tems her first chart-topping song in the United Kingdom.
The song has also recorded over 500 million streams globally.
Spotify also introduced an in-app voting feature for the 2026 list.
The feature allows users to predict the song they believe will become the biggest hit of the summer.
