Nigerian medical doctor, visual artist and Guinness World Record holder Dr. Foladavid, will bring together over 1,000 children for Colors of Possibility, a collective art initiative and attempt at the Guinness World Records title for the largest fabric marbling painting. Scheduled for 11 November 2026 at Onikan Stadium, Lagos, the project will place children at the centre of an ambitious creative undertaking, giving them the opportunity to help make an artwork of extraordinary scale.

The initiative has the full support of the Lagos State Government, the Lagos State Ministry of Education, the Federal Ministry of Art, Culture, Tourism and Creative Economy, the Federal Ministry of Youth Development, and the Federal Ministry of Education. This state and federal support gives prominence to the project’s shared focus on creative education, cultural participation and opportunities for young people.

Colors of Possibility will bring together children from public and private schools, vocational centres and the wider community, including children with additional needs. Their participation is central to the project: each child will contribute to a shared artwork that reflects the imagination and effort of its young creators. Bringing children from different backgrounds into the same creative process will offer a practical experience of inclusion, cooperation and belonging.

Under Foladavid’s artistic direction, the children will take part in a coordinated marbling activity in which their individual contributions become part of one continuous composition. The process will make collaboration visible, allowing participants to see how their own creative decisions contribute to a larger result.

The educational ambition reaches beyond the finished fabric. The project aims to encourage children to experiment, make decisions and express ideas through colour and pattern. Working towards a shared goal will also offer lessons in patience, coordination and respect for the contributions of others. For participating schools and educators, the event presents an opportunity to connect learning with a memorable experience outside the classroom.

Powered by 78MFB as the event’s sponsor, Colors of Possibility also incorporates a ₦10 million Creative Fund set aside for children as part of the initiative. The fund adds a development dimension to the event, linking the excitement of participation with support for creative potential. It reinforces the project’s intention to make the children’s experience and future possibilities central to its impact.

For Foladavid, whose previous Guinness World Record achievement brought international attention to his practice, this undertaking shifts the focus towards a new generation of creators. His role will be to guide a collective process in which children can experience the scale of what they are capable of achieving together. The record attempt provides a compelling goal, while the wider purpose is to build confidence and broaden how participants see their own potential.

Colors of Possibility will bring together children, educators, parents and guardians, volunteers, partners and invited guests for a day centred on shared creation. Its intended legacy is a generation of participants who can point to an extraordinary collective artwork and recognise their own contribution within it. On 11 November, the children will have the opportunity to turn possibility into something they can see, touch and remember.
