RIIDM was born in Kogi State and raised in Ilorin, the Kwara State capital.

He also works as a graphic designer and video editor, bringing together different aspects of digital content production in his artistic activities.

The combination reflects the increasingly varied responsibilities undertaken by independent musicians, many of whom participate in both the musical and visual aspects of their work.

For artists developing their careers outside major record-label structures, skills in visual design and video production can be useful when creating promotional materials, developing an artistic identity and communicating with audiences.

RIIDM’s background in these areas gives him experience in disciplines that frequently intersect with contemporary music production.

Born in Kogi State and raised in Ilorin, RIIDM’s background spans different parts of Nigeria before his move into the Lagos creative environment.

Ilorin, the capital of Kwara State, has provided the setting for the early development of numerous young Nigerians pursuing careers in education, business and the arts.

For RIIDM, growing up in the city formed part of the personal journey that preceded his decision to pursue music professionally.

He has also spoken about the significance of following a creative path despite coming from a religious family.

As the son of a pastor, his decision to build a career in music represented an important personal choice.

RIIDM
RIIDM is a multi-talented musician.

His subsequent work in Lagos places him within one of Nigeria’s most active centres for music production, entertainment and digital creativity.

The city is home to recording studios, producers, filmmakers, designers and other professionals whose work contributes to the country’s creative industries.

Before announcing the forthcoming EP, RIIDM released several singles that have contributed to his growing catalogue.

They include Okay, Chosen, What’s Left, Hold On and IDO.

The new EP represents an opportunity to present a collection of songs within a single project rather than through individual releases.

Extended plays have become a common format among emerging musicians because they allow artists to introduce several recordings without necessarily undertaking the production commitments associated with a full-length album.

For listeners, an EP can also provide a broader introduction to an artist’s songwriting and musical direction.

In RIIDM’s case, the forthcoming project is a reflection of his development as a musician and his interest in combining rhythm, emotion and storytelling.

RIIDM
RIIDM was born into a Christian household and is the son of a pastor.

RIIDM’s planned release comes within a music industry increasingly shaped by digital distribution and online audience engagement.

Streaming platforms have made it possible for musicians to release recordings to listeners without relying exclusively on traditional physical distribution channels.

For independent artists, digital services can provide a route to audiences beyond their immediate communities.
