One thing I love about Americans is their ability to rise up and work towards a certain cause. The #IAmAnImmigrant Campaign has amassed the voices of several Hollywood stars to the launch of the campaign to raise awareness and commemorate the lives and stories of American immigrants which falls in line with Immigration Heritage Month this June.

According to their website, the campaign seeks to challenge the negative rhetoric against immigrants, celebrate them and provide them with a platform to share their story. There is also the hashtag #IAmAnImmigrant making rounds on social media to promote the cause.

Celebrities like Lupita Nyong’o, Kimora Lee Simmons, Tracee Ellis Ross, Rosario Dawson, Akon, Alan Cummings, Danai Gurira, Miguel, Adepero Oduye, Estelle and many more have joined the campaign.
