The Niger State Governor, Alhaji Abubakar Sani Bello, has inaugurated the newly elected council chairmen in the state amid mild drama in government house in Minna, as two contenders for the chairmanship position of Mariga Local Government Area of the state appeared to be sworn in.

The two contenders, Mallam Idris Ibrahim, who was said to have contested the just concluded local government election and won, and Barr. Abdulmalik Sarkin Daji, who is challenging the election of the former in court both appeared in government house to be sworn-in by the governor.

The drama, however, delayed the swearing-in for over four hours as one the contenders, Idris Ibrahim engaged in a prolonged dialogue with the governor, but could not reach an agreement.
