Thursday, the 16th of May at the Indigo Hotel in Downtown Los Angeles marked the beginning of the road to the 19th annual BET Awards.

Nominees for the much-anticipated awards were revealed at the media event hosted by television personality Kendallkyndall, and included 21 Savage, the City Girls, Gunna, Lil Baby and more.

Before all was said and done, Kendallkyndall announced the nominees for “best female hip-hop artist”, “best male hip-hop artist” and “best collaboration.”

Leading the way with 7 nominations, out of a total of 20 categories, is award-winning rapper and mother of 1, Cardi B.

The 2019 BET Awards will air June 23rd live from the Microsoft Theater in Los Angeles.
