Abductors of Ogun secondary school teacher demand N50m ransom

Adegbenjo
Gunmen have abducted Adelowo Adegbenjo, a teacher in Alabata Community High School, Odeda, along Abeokuta-Ibadan Road in Ogun State.

The victim, a secondary school teacher, was kidnapped on Wednesday while going to his poultry farm after school hours.

A close friend of the victim identified as Gafari Olaoniye, said the kidnappers have demanded a N50 million ransom. He disclosed this in a phone interview with The Guardian yesterday.

Another teacher at the same school, who pleaded anonymity, said: “We are pleading that the vigilante group and policemen be dispatched to the forest around Alabata to search for him before anything happens to him.”

When contacted, spokesperson for Ogun State Police Command, SP Omotola Odutola, confirmed the abduction, saying: “I know of a community teacher in Alabata who was taken away by gunmen. I don’t know if he is an albino and I don’t know anything about a ransom.”
