Media mogul and philanthropist, Mosunmola Abudu, better known as Mo Abudu, is set to release a short film, titled, Dust to Dreams, a film that follows the relationship between a mother and her teenage daughter as she meets her father for the first time.

Created by Abudu, the film which is directed by the British actor, Idris Elba, is a collaboration between Abudu’s EbonyLife Films and the African Export-Import Bank (Afreximbank) through its Creative Africa Nexus (Canex).

The movie features Nollywood stars including Nse Ikpe-Etim, Eku Edewor, Atlanta Bridget Johnson, former Nigerian Idol contestant Constance Olatunde, and British singer Seal.

With Abudu as both the executive producer and producer, Heidi Uys is the supervising producer of the project. Other producers are Temidayo Makanjuola, Inem King, and Vanessa Demme.

Recall that last year, Abudu and Elba announced a partnership to empower and uplift African stories through their production companies. The filmmakers said the partnership would build capacity and foster an authentic representation of African works in global film and TV projects.
