Born in Oworoshoki, Lagos state, Huloo’s roots trace back to Onicha-Ugbo, Delta State. An autodidact at heart, many of the skills he possesses today, from web design to audio engineering, were self-taught. His journey into the world of music began in 2016 under the alias ‘Mcvince.’ However, in 2018, he took a hiatus to explore other avenues.

In 2019, he returned to the music scene, rebranding himself as ‘Vince The Name.’ That November, he released his first body of work, ‘V.I.N.N.Y: The calm before the storm.’ Yet, his artistic journey didn’t stop there. He transitioned to the realm of music mixing and mastering, adopting the moniker ‘Huloo.’ To him, Huloo represents his favorite artistic persona. In his words, “How UK Rapper Fredo put it, I’ve leveled up about six times, this my favorite version”.

Mcvincent’s list of achievements and collaborations is impressive. He has worked with notable artists like Favi, Psycho YP and more. “Working with notable artists like Favi, Yung Kossi, Psycho YP, Hotkid, Zilla Oaks, ReezyBag, and more has been a rewarding experience,” he shares. His dedication to his craft and versatility as both an artist and audio engineer have earned him some recognition in the industry among collectives and peers in the music scene in especially in places like Benin city (B-Side) & Lagos.

Currently, Huloo is immersed in creating more music. His upcoming release, ‘RARA,’ features the talented Favi. His goals are simple yet ambitious – to produce more music and visuals that resonate with his audience.

When asked about his inspiration, Huloo reveals a journey filled with curiosity and passion. Huloo states, “I’ve always loved trying new things. One day in secondary school, I wrote a poem, and it felt right. That led me to explore writing for fun.” He recalls listening to Drake’s songs like ‘FIND YOUR LOVE’ or ‘OVER’ and trying his hand at rhyming on the beats. He adds, “One day I listened to a Drake song, either ‘FIND YOUR LOVE’ or ‘OVER,’ and I saw where to download the beat. I tried rhyming on the beat, liked it, and kept at it. Recording my first song was the next step, and I’ve been on this journey ever since.”

For those aspiring to follow in his footsteps, Huloo’s advice is straightforward – learn to handle rejections, you’ll get plenty of it, maybe daily even in the music industry. Thats where consistency and persistence come in.
