The Super Eagles of Nigeria have finished second in Group A of the 2023 African Cup of Nations in Ivory Coast despite beating Guinea-Bissau 1-0.

A 36th minute own goal was all that Nigeria needed to defeat Guinea-Bissau in their final group game of the 2023 AFCON on Monday.

It was, however, not enough to help the Super Eagles finish top of their group with the honour falling on Equatorial Guinea which dismantled host nation, Ivory Coast 4-0.

Equatorial Guinea and Nigeria both have seven points after winning two matches and drawing one but the former top Group A with a better goal difference.
