Again, terrorists attack Kaduna community, kidnap 15 women, one man

Again, terrorists yesterday launched a deadly attack on Dogon-noma community in Kajuru Local Council of the Kaduna State and abducted 15 women and a man.

The attack came three days after one person was killed while eight women were kidnapped in Banono Angwaku community in the same local council.

A resident of the Area, Istifanus Ma’aji, confirmed the number of those kidnapped to journalists.
Ma’aji said: “For now, only 15 women and a man could be confirmed kidnapped.

“We cannot authoritatively confirm the figures, because most of the villagers ran for their lives when the attackers struck.

“We can only confirm the figure by evening when we are able to access the village and a count is taken to ascertain those missing.”

According to him, the attackers invaded the village “at 5.30 am on Saturday in large numbers, shooting indiscriminately.”

Also confirming the incident, former chairman of the local council, Cafra Caino, said: “We are yet to get the number of casualties because the locals ran for their lives at the time the assailants invaded the community.

“The community had sometime in 2019 come under heavy attack where 74 people were killed and it has been experiencing attacks recently.”

It was also gathered that Kajuru and Chikun local councils had in recent weeks become the hotbed of attacks and kidnapping causing tension in the state.

The state Police Public Relations Officer, ASP Mansir Hassan, did not respond to telephone calls put to him to confirm the incident as of the time of filing this report.

Also contacted, the Chief Press Secretary (CPS) to the governor, Mallam Mohammed Lawal Shehu, in response to a text message to confirm the incident said: “I am not aware of the incident, please get in touch with the Commissioner of Internal Security. Thanks a lot.”

Attempts to get the reaction of the Commissioner of Internal Security failed as he could not be reached on telephone.
