Aganga’s book for launch at SOAS

Olusegun Aganga
Former Minister of Finance, Segun Aganga, will launch his long-awaited book at the School of African and Oriental Studies (SOAS), in Russell Square, today.

The book is titled, ‘Reclaiming the African Jewel: A Blueprint for Taking Nigeria and Africa from Potential to Posterity’.

The launch was organised as part of the Royal African Society (RAS) series of events.

The former minister is expected to “share an insider account of how to take Nigeria and Africa from potential to prosperity” at the two-hour event, beginning 6:00 p.m.

According to a statement by RAS, Aganga, who, prior to his ministerial portfolio, was a Goldman Sachs investment banker, will draw on his “long experience in both the private sector and government” to provide “practical and pragmatic insights that all Nigerians, and anyone concerned about the broader economic future of Africa should consider”.

Part of the launch will see Aganga read excerpts from the book, followed by a question and answer session.

RAS said proceeds from sale of the book “will go towards poverty alleviation programmes in Nigeria and other African countries”.

The event will be chaired by Lord John Hastings, with closing remarks by Nigeria High Commissioner for the UK, Sarafa Tunji Isola.
