Agatha Interiors climbs thirty, unveils new logo

Showcasing luxury and detailed finishing, the indigenous interior design outfit that puts aesthetics made in Nigeria designs on local and international limelight, Agatha’s Interior Design Ltd has launched a new logo in commemoration of its 30 years anniversary.

According to the founder Agatha Eric-Udorie, a professional interior designer, who exudes a rare mix of deep passion and intuitive knowledge in the rudiments of carpentry as well as intense desire for beautifying interior spaces at the event that held last weekend in Lagos, “in commemoration of our 30th anniversary, we have rebranded the Agatha logo to more contemporary shades. This is our way of moving from the old to new. We were blue and yellow but now we have rebranded to soft pink, Russian red, burgundy and green, moving from the old to the new.”

The interior design expert, in her remark, however, noted that the industry is evolving immensely in Nigeria. “When I see the work that is being done even with African fabrics, I am so proud.”

She emphasised that the foundation of proper interior space fitting is absolute cleanliness. “When I go into a client’s interior spaces, I start by sweeping and mopping the floors. If this is not your beginning, it would be impossible to achieve and present a beautiful home for the clients. So, when we take up your homes, we start with that. We make sure that all the surfaces are clean and then we can put lovely furniture and other décor items inside so that you can appreciate it.”

Commenting on the impact of the inflation on the interior designs industry in Nigeria and what the government is doing to cushion the effect, Agatha said, “I can tell you that our nation is import-based, we import all the raw materials except for the wood and a few paint industries that we have here. However, there is the Manufacturers Association of Nigeria. If you belong to this association and paid your dues, there are incentives that the federal government put in place that allows you to buy eFax cheaper just to make your business go on. The major problem that I see in the industry is poor power supply which is clearly a challenge in all sectors.”
