AIMAN reiterates importance of automated environment in aviation industry

Aeronautical Information Management Association of Nigeria (AIMAN) has reiterated the importance of creating automated environment in order to ensure proper data management in the aviation industry.

Reason AIMAN President, Sir William George Ngerem, appealed to the Minister of Aviation and the Managing Director of Nigerian Airspace Management Agency (NAMA), to sustain the unprecedented and renewed commitment to bring Aviation Information Service (AIS) automation to completion as it will enhance air to ground communication with other benefits to the Nigerian airspace.


Ngerem said this, in Lagos, yesterday, at an event to mark 2024 World Aeronautical Information Service (AIS) with the theme “Efficient data management in an automated environment.”

AIMAN President noted it is a fact that any organisation that wants to ensure that information is properly structured, saved, and used must have efficient data management.

“Effective data management is especially more important in automated environments where data is created and analysed quickly.”    He said the ability to quickly process and evaluate massive amounts of data is one of the main advantages of effective data management in an automated setting.”

“Organisations may easily gather, store, and retrieve data with the aid of automated tools and technologies, enabling them to base their decisions on accurate and current information.”

The General Manager, AIS, Alhaji Kabir Gausu, said there is need for recap of policies in aviation industry to meet up with aviation International standard, as AIS is still underdeveloped in Nigeria.

He said: “All hands must be on deck to achieve desired goal in aviation industry.”

General Manager, Safety Management Services and Quality Assurance Nigerian Airspace Management Agency, Alhaji Bola Ahmed delivered the lecture at the event.
